Woodbridge Youth Services and the Town of Bethany will sponsor the Bethwood Bash program at the Woodbridge Center Building Gym – 4 Meetinghouse Lane on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. The event is for 7th and 8th grade Woodbridge and Bethany residents only. Enjoy music and games with an interactive Boppers’ D.J. Compete in the donut eating contest, costume contest, and a mummy wrap contest too! Costumes are optional (but fun). Refreshments, raffle prizes, and entertainment, all for an admission price of $5.00! No early drop-offs and prompt pick-up, please. Amity Dress code applies. This party is for 7th and 8th grade residents only! Private school students who reside in Bethany and Woodbridge are encouraged to attend.
Bring a new or gently used pair of sneakers for the sneaker drive and receive five extra raffle tickets!

The Job Bank in Woodbridge offers jobs to teen residents who would like to work to earn some extra cash. The application process offers a chance to learn about the interview process, safety on the job, and how to negotiate pay. The Woodbridge Job Bank has numerous teenagers who are experienced in babysitting. Many have completed the American Red Cross Babysitters Training Course. Digital Photography for Teens-with instructor Melanie Stengel – former New Haven Register Staff Photographer
This is an introductory class on digital photography for students who want to get the most out of their digital cameras and improve their photographic skills as well as for those more experienced students who want to enhance their skills. The class will be offered Thursdays in the computer lab at the Middle School from 2:25pm-3:55pm. The late bus is available on Thursdays at 4pm.
The course will cover camera basics while working through creative assignments on composition, natural and artificial light and color. Students will work in Adobe Photoshop in the computer lab learning professional techniques to maximize their photography. Participants will print their best photos each week to build their portfolios. Weekly projects will allow plenty of time for experimentation. A materials fee of $80.00 per student must be paid in advance. A discount for siblings and financial assistance may be arranged for qualifying families. Class will begin October 1st. Fun Fitness Cooking – with Culinary Institute of America trained Chef Maggie Lyon
Learn how to cook and gain a recipe for lifelong healthy living! This 10 week class will be offered in the Middle School’s kitchen after school Tuesdays from 2:25-3:55pm. The late bus is available on Tuesdays at 4pm. Class is limited to 12 participants. Students will receive a notebook with recipes, nutrition and food safety information, a glossary of techniques and terms and an apron. We’ll start with basic skills and techniques and enhance the fundamentals to help develop a lifetime of great cooking and creativity.
