Annitta Ingraham
Candidate:
Board of Assessment Appeals
I am proud to be a 3rd generation Woodbridge resident. I was raised on a small family farm on Greenway Road. I grew up living on property that my grandparents, aunts and uncle cleared themselves. I come from a long line of hard-working people on both sides of my family.
I am a product of the Woodbridge/Amity school system and I know firsthand how valuable that is. My formal education includes a B.S. in business administration from Southern Connecticut State University, an M.B.A. from Fairfield University and an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. While nursing school and becoming a Registered Nurse came after my business education, I have always been passionate about helping people.
I have a variety of interests and that’s reflected in my work history. My first career was working with special needs adults. I still help a family with two adult autistic children. My professional career has primarily been around project management. I am currently an IT Project Manager at United Healthcare where I have worked for the last 23 years.
I have worked in many areas of the company, but one of my most proud accomplishments was being part of the team that launched a care management program for members facing cancer treatment. In addition to my full-time job, I am a realtor, landlord and house flipper. I know how to get things done in a large organization and I also know what it takes to run a small business.
I am running for the Board of Assessment Appeals. The Appeals process is an important one because it looks to balance reasonable requests for financial relief due to special circumstances while protecting the financial interests of the town. If elected, I would be a reliable, honest and practical member of this important elected board.
