Daniel Del Prete
Candidate:
Amity Board of Education
I moved to Woodbridge in 2016 from New Haven because Woodbridge reminds me of where I grew up in New Jersey. My wife and I wanted a larger house for our seven children and we purchased with my wife’s mother to have a multi-generational household. We had previously cared for my wife’s grandmother in New Haven and have enjoyed a multi-generational home for over 12 years.
I have served as a New Haven Firefighter for the past nine years. I am also a certified EMT and Haz Mat Technician and take tremendous pride in being able to serve the community at large. I carry these skills and certifications with me on a daily basis, together with a desire to work not only for my family but everyone I meet.
In addition to my commitment to public safety and my family, I am currently on the Amity Middle School Bethany PTO as the Color Fun Run Co-Organizer, dedicating my personal time to others as well. I have done this for over 3 years and continue to grow the event and impact the PTO has on the school. I have also been on the executive board of New Haven Fire Fighters local 825 for the past 7 years and Vice President for the last 5.
I am running for the Amity Board of Education because I have always been an active participant in my children’s lives and community. I want to be involved in designing, implementing and executing the curriculum and environment at Amity for the benefit of all its students. My family will be utilizing the school for the next 15 years and I feel I can contribute to the educational ecosystem while getting active feedback from my children and their peers along the way. I am a principled person who values consistency, transparency, discussions to create growth, and working as part of a team.
