BEKI’s annual celebration of Lag BaOmer, the 33rd day of the Omer, will be on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. The folk-custom is to sing around a campfire at a “kumsitz,” meaning “come” and “sit.” The program will include niggunim—which have no words—as well as traditional American songs and Jewish songs, all from song sheets. Max DuBoff will be the song leader. The raindate is May 28. Consult beki.org for details.
