Beth El – Keser Israel Events for March 2024
Purim Festivities March 23 & 24
The Book of Esther will be read at BEKI both Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24. Adults as well as children are encouraged to come in costume. The children’s carnival and Purim seudah will be on Sunday as well. More information at beki.org.
New Purim Books
BEKI has purchased engaging new Megillat Esther books, called The New Venice Esther, with original art by Tilla Crowne, Sophie Herxheimer, Mirta Kupferminc, and Jacqueline Nicholls illustrating the text. The artists were inspired by the city of Venice and its venerable gambling culture.
Keith Richter: Nature Photography Exhibition
The nature photographs of BEKI member Keith Richter are featured in BEKI’s upstairs gallery through May 26. Richter’s photography is a blend of his two passions: abstract art and nature. Living in New Haven, Keith has the opportunity to explore the surrounding woods, lakes, and rivers. He seeks to capture the ways in which abstract art mimics nature through shapes, colors, and patterns.
Richter will be available to discuss his photographs on March 9. Details at beki.org
Learn with the Rabbi
Rabbi Eric Woodward leads a discussion of the weekly Torah portion on Thursdays. Talmud class meets Sundays March 3-10-17-31 and other select Sundays. Details at beki.org.

Children's Havura, K-2 Kehila, and Junior Congregation, all led by parent or grandparent volunteers, meet each Saturday. For more information, consult Education Director Annie Norman-Schiff at anormanschiff@beki.org.
