Join Ranger Evelyn for an early–morning walk at 8:00 a.m. geared towards adults, or join us for a family bird walk at 1:00 p.m. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair. Fall Term Junior Rangers
Registration begins Monday, August 26; class runs Thursdays, Sept. 12–Oct: 31, 3:30–5 p.m.
Calling all kids 11 to 14 years old who love nature! Has your child wanted to work with animals, garden, help maintain our trails, and help with special events? This is the opportunity to support the Nature Center in our 8-week after-school program. Parental permission is required. Class size is limited; this class fills up fast! Stewardship Series 2: Nix the Knotweed
Saturday, August 31, 10:00 a.m.
Join the Nature Center’s Land Stewards Team and help us in our 3-year effort to restore the park’s land. Japanese Knotweed is an invasive plant and a threat to our Nature Center habitats and waterways. We will gather as a team to do a carbohydrate starvation cut to select sensitive knotweed-infested areas. Please bring loppers or a harvesting knife. Afterward, we will have pizza and s’mores in Pavilion #2. Please register in advance by clicking here. For ages 12 and up (accompanied by an adult).
Family Organic Garden Program
Tuesday Family Organic Garden Program - Sept. 3, 10, 17, 24 & Oct. 1, 8, 15 @ 3:30 p.m.
The ANC will be continuing family-friendly activities in our organic garden. Learn about a variety of fruits and vegetables. Dress appropriately; keep in mind you might get water and soil on your clothing. FREE, with the potential to take home fresh produce! Sign up by clicking here.
