The Woodbridge Education Association will be rewarding three $500 scholarships to deserving Amity High School seniors. The applicants must also have attended Beecher Road School. The scholarship committee is looking for students who embody the spirit and values of Beecher Road School.

Dean College is pleased to announce that Catherine Thomas of Woodbridge has earned a place on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2023 semester. Students named to the Dean’s List have demonstrated a serious commitment to their studies while at Dean College.

Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition.

Beecher School Recognized for Its Use of TechnologyBeecher Road School recently was named an Apple Distinguished School, a recognition by the Apple company for schools that are making exemplary use of technology in teaching and learning. In an effort to stem the tide of teachers leaving the district and to support teacher retention, the Amity Board of Education and the Teachers Union have agreed to an unprecedented 13.5% salary increase spread over the next three school years.

Francis Origanti, of Woodbridge, CT, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Origanti was initiated at Sacred Heart University.
